Today the first DLC for Train Valley 2, Passenger Flow was released and with how much I have liked the other games in the series I was excited to try it out. Earlier this year Train Valley 2 left early access and while I never put up a review of the final release of the game, I loved where the game ended up. Despite changing the formula quite a bit from the original game I actually thought Train Valley 2 significantly improved upon the original game. Instead of just trying to get trains from one station to another, you had to transport goods between locations in order to create more advanced goods. I was kind of surprised by Train Valley 2 as it changed up the gameplay quite a bit from the original game. A couple years later Train Valley 2 came out and I was really excited to play it. I really liked the original Train Valley as it was a really fun experience trying to keep all of the trains from crashing into one another. The original Train Valley was released back in 2015 and was a fun game where you built connections between stations and tried to safely move trains from one station to another. Price: So long as Steam is selling it for $10? Worth it.If you have followed Geeky Hobbies for a while you will know that I have been a big fan of the Train Valley series. Luckily it doesn't happen often enough to cause any real annoyance for me

modding and custom content otherwise is mostly incredibly easy to install (other than planet auran downloader).Ī decade ago having the right specs to run this game was hard to come by and now that almost every machine can run at least 1GB of Ram including your phones, you shouldnt really expect any performance issues or errors other than a common recurring screen freeze that last for about 1 or 2 seconds after doing something in game, this seems to occur regardless of your specs. Modding for this game was, quite frankly better in 2013, the sources of mods, content, locomotives, etc, is incredibly scarce now compared to before, within the week i've only been able to find so many working models or links today. i've only ever barely touched it though since i prefer to make my own layouts but it appears like there's a decent amount of playability in the base game before needing to find more. The game offers multiple routes/sessions (similar to a mission?) where you can complete tasks within certain areas around the globe. Otherwise controls are made up of an easy to read interface similar to DCC with a dial and buttons The in-game driving itself is, well, meh? im not completely thrilled with the system for manually controlling the locomotive but it exists and it works so long as you know what you're doing since it's in-cab (although there is tutorial and the option to have all levers on a board similar to the DCC option).

Its very easy to spend hours on end in this game when you get into a creative zone and i have spent hundreds of hours using the interface, there are some features which i believe could improve the interface which im sure mods can fix. The route editor is very good! once you become familiar with the array of options and locations of options they become incredibly useful and intuitive to use. If you're a diesel or electric train person, dont you worry y'all get plenty of toys :) Searching for steam locomotive assets to make up for the absence is difficult and doesn't yield many results. If not then maaaaaaaaaybe 3 at most but the lack of steam trains in the game is a little dissapointing. how many steam locomotives are in the base game? Let's start off with is the most important question i had: If you're looking for a solid railroad simulator to plan model layouts or live your train conducting dreams, this game is an excellent pick especially if it's on sale. Trainz Simulator 12 is just as i remember it being back in 2013 when i first got it. Im rating this game as is in 2022, though I have played it for years when i was younger so there may be some bias.
